Over
the last 32 years the building has been extended,
and the business has grown. It now operates as a
very successful Crafts and Clothes shop, with an
adjoining 60 seat Coffee Shop. It is operated by
David Cooper and an excellent team of staff.
David does all the buying for the shop, and spends
some considerable time locating new sources of stock.
As a result, the shop has built up a fine reputation
as having one of the finest collections of garments
at the keenest prices. Customers come from all over
the world, and a large part of Crafts & Things
trading is repeat business. Sweaters and cardigans,
capes, outdoor jackets, shawls, jackets, skirts,
blouses, scarves and hats, t-shirts, and sweat shirts,
wool, cashmere, lambswool, or cotton: the variety
is enormous, and quality is always the keyword.
The
Coffee Shop is very popular with tourists and locals
alike. All the food is made on the premises, including
all the large variety of home baking on offer. There
is always a choice of soups available, and the special
main dish changes daily. There is a huge choice
of teas and coffees and you can also enjoy a glass
of wine or beer with your meal. And when weather
permits you can enjoy all of this outside.
The
coffee shop also sells an exciting and constantly
changing range of books, paintings and prints, the
selection for which we have become justifiably famous!
